Remarks of Gratitude by Learning Centre Students

July 29, 2008

During our last day teaching at the Learning Centre, some students made presentations, on behalf of the class, which expressed their appreciation to us.  We were overwhelmed with their gratitude and have reprinted these presentations here you can see the benefits of volunteering and how it really makes a difference.

How Brave You Are!

by Eric

Despite the long journey you had
and much money you paid
jobs and families you left
chances and interests you left there
and honorable places you have at home
you came to teach us
how brave you are!

You taught us without price
You give what you love without any interests
You are hard working and courageous
You are smart and generous
You create us a way of speaking English
You shared you intelligence with us
How brave you are!

Your intelligence is the light of the world
Your kindness is the horticulture for Africa
Your courage is the engine of our studies
Your English is our road to the wealth
Your presence is our joy
Your leaving is our sorrow
How brave you are!

Something begins has an end
But your English you taught has no end
It will expand all over the world
English will be a key of our memories
It will be the remembrance of our teachers
They are going to be far from us
But close to our hearts.

I’m The Only One

by Emery

So hardly, hard I tried many times
By now I feel very competent
and I’m not afraid of it.
Who can challenge me.

It will make my future brighter
So many facilities will come after
None can talk of me
in that foreign language.

I can write
I can speak
I can listen
I delight in it

It extends my thoughts
Everywhere I can go
I’m able to communicate
It will make me friends
It will drive my mind

I struggled for it, it mine
If I were you I would strive for it
Don’t be coward
Its yours as well

Thank you

Honorable Guests teachers, Honorable permanent teacher, Honorable students,

First and foremost good morning!

On behalf of my fellow students, I’m so far impressed to describe the abundance of joyfulness that fills our hearts.  From the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you so much for having sacrificed your time, financial and mind for us.

Thank you for the lessons that you’ve been delivering for us.  You’re not selfish to what you have as knowledge.  We have found that you’re very generous.

Honorable Guests teachers, knowing that you’re departing for your respective countries; we want to manifest our great regret because as we were familiar to you, we would like you to remain here with us but as the push comes to shove, it is irreversible.

Honorable guests teachers, it is a great thanks giving for an English lessons system that you design here for our welfare, whereby we are experiencing further benefits apart from the very program.

We are deeply wishing you a peaceful and safe journey sending our warm salutations and greetings that you’ll extend to your relatives and compatriots in your countries.  We can’t find a price to give you but we only say thank you.  Let God bless you all and we ensure you that we shall be yielding the fruits from the seeds that we obtained from your best services and you’ll actually receive reports of the results.  We hope that you’ll come back to Rwanda to see how far we will have improved.

Thank you very much, may God bless you.

Long live Network for Africa.

Dear guests from different parts of the world, the entire leadership of Solace Ministries, fellow students and friends.

Permit me on behalf of my fellow students to utilize this opportunity to thank you for your courage and great love you have for us and indeed you had shown it to us in different ways.

With great honor, allow me once again to appreciate your assistance in offering to teach us for free plus having left your jobs, your friends, families and loved ones and offered to teach us.  It is wonderful, unbelievable and difficult to explain but all I can say is, may the Lord God bless you and in all what you do.

We wish you safe journey and permit me once again to send greetings to your families and loved ones on behalf of fellow students.

Thank you, Joseph
