Margaret McQuiston

Margaret McQuiston

Margaret McQuiston is a community development practitioner. Margaret’s career has been primarily with the Canadian government addressing First Nation’s issues including the promotion of self-governing structures, community-based development and rights protection in resource development activities. Margaret’s work has given her the opportunity to travel to and work with many aboriginal communities throughout Canada.

Margaret has a keen interest in travel and has traveled extensively throughout the world. More recently, Margaret had the opportunity to see community development projects first hand in El Salvador, Rwanda and Uganda. Margaret is a volunteer with World Vision Canada and is currently on the Calgary Committee in Support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Margaret is originally from Toronto, Ontario and lives in Calgary, Alberta.

Rebecca Tinsley

Rebecca Tinsely

Rebecca Tinsley is a journalist and activist. Her work has taken her to several African countries and she has a particular interest in places that have experienced genocide, notably Rwanda, Darfur and Bosnia.

She has raised money for various projects to support widows and orphans of the Rwanda genocide and is director of the Waging Peace campaign. 

Becky has been instrumental in establishing the Network 4 Africa which is currently supporting various projects in Rwanda Becky is from Toronto, Ontario and lives in London, England and Santa Barbara, California with her husband, Henry Tinsley.

Alexandra MacDonald

Alexandra MacDonald

Alexandra MacDonald is an educator. She has worked in both the public and private school systems in Alberta and Ontario. Alexandra has been involved in the development and implementation of programs for students and teachers focusing on leadership, experiential learning and diversity.

She is currently Program Coordinator for Connections 25, an Alberta-based youth immersion program designed to create a better understanding of the multicultural and diverse nature of our schools and society. Presently, Alexandra works as a teacher and school administrator and has recently taken a school group on an educational and humanitarian trip to Viet Nam. Alexandra is originally from Toronto, Ontario and lives in Calgary, Alberta.

Dana Cornea

Dana Cornea

Dana is a development economist and chartered accountant but is currently on maternity leave until July 2007.  Her son, Finlay, was born on June 24th 2006.  Dana's career as a chartered accountant has exposed her to many different industries and challenges. 

Her work as an economist and financial analyst with the federal government has been very rewarding, first working in Ottawa at all three central agencies as well as Health Canada in policy development and then in Calgary at the National Energy Board.

 Dana is an avid mountain biker and skier and enjoys volunteering.
